Jealousy's a green eyed monster.
(y/n) was curious.
She had heard many things from Ciel about 'Lady Elizabeth'. Ninety percent of those things were negative; so naturally, (y/n) was very excited to see why. Or at least, she was.. Until she actually 'met' her. From the moment she had laid eyes on her, (y/n) did not find it very difficult to see why Ciel was not a fan of his 'annoying' cousin. Actually, she was sure she had invented at least four other names she could help him brand her with. None of them suitable for children.
From what she saw, Elizabeth ( Lizy as she insisted she was to be called ) was the loudest, most obnoxious character she had ever met. Even though, technically, she didn't meet her.. And it was driving her bonkers that because Lizy, along with being loud and generally annoying, also appeared to have a problem with 'clingy-ness' she had the tenancy to latch onto Ciel and not. let. go. EVER. Honestly, (y/n) had seen her maybe ninety time in the last four hours ( should have been only two, but Lizy wanted to 'surprise Ciel' by coming early. Whooptie fucking do. ) and every time she had been with Ciel. Dragging the poor boy around like some kind of stuffed animal! Now considering Ciel was preoccupied (whether unwilling, or God forbid actually willing) she officially, at the moment, had nothing to do.
She wasn't jealous. Oh no, that was definitely not the case here. I mean, its not like Lizy was invited to live at Ciel's house ( actually she wasn't invited at all ), it's not like Lizy received visits from Ciel in a cemetery almost every day for three weeks in a row ( as far as she knew, she had never been visited ), it's not like Lizy was offered a chance to play chess with Ciel ( actually, the chess board that was being set up right now was most definitely for their first time ..Wait, what?! ).
Lizy and Ciel were playing chess?!
Huh, if you could even call it that. It looked more like Ciel was trying to teach sign language to a gorilla ( Good luck pal. The gorilla would have been a quicker learner ). Lizy was even making up stupid names like 'little pony' for the horsie piece, and 'tiny castle' for the lighthouse, and ugh. She was even naming the queen and king pieces after her and Ciel. Gosh she was stupid; Ciel obviously resembles the super short pieces with the rounded heads that are all over the board way more! The whole scene made her sick to her ghost stomach, she need some fresh air, or something to take he-
..Wait, while Ciel was playing chess with Lizy.. Sebastian was alone, and free.. I mean, she wasn't 100% comfy with this guy, but there is always a time to start.. why not now? So she quickly made herself scarce from this gut wrenching scene and plotted a fun way to get a conversation started between her and Sebastian. Her plan, she reflected back on about an hour later, may not have been the best or the brightest.. but it did start a conversation!
Now, considering how freaked out Ciel had been when she walked through the door, she figured Sebastian (who had never seen it) would be too. That would be fun, right? Freak him out, he laughs, she laughs.. they realize that there is nothing awkward between the two of them and they hang out until that stupid, dumb, messed- uh.. Lizy. Until Lizy left. So now that she had her great ice breaker, she just had to find him! So she began her hunt. Then continued her hunt. And continued her hunt. Did that door look familiar to anyone..no? Because she could have sworn it was the one she passed three. times. already. Finally to prevent herself from doing something she had never done before ( give up ), she took to sinking down into the floor until only her head was sticking out. Why this made a difference.. well it didn't actually. It was more to make (y/n) feel like she was doing something new and effective, when really all she was doing was having a hard time seeing where everything was. Somewhere around her fifth time going in that complete circle she heard a whistling.. did Sebastian whistle? She was going to find out! Quickly moving towards the source of the sound, (y/n) saw an approaching pair of legs and from the waste up.. what looked to be crates? Too overjoyed with the fact that she found Sebastian, (y/n) didn't realize that 1) he didn't see her 2) she wasn't appearing out through the wall like planned and 3) that she was about the be stepped on if she didn't move. She didn't move. When Sebastian stepped on her head, she let out a quick 'yelp' which startled him. So much so that he leapt backwards and dropped all the crates he had been holding.. lucky for (y/n) only three of the five hit her on the head. Only three.
When she opened her eyes, which had been closed as she braced for the impact of the crates, she noticed Sebastian was clutching his heart and was breathing heavily. Realizing that her plan was a success, more or less, she let out a laugh and waited for him to join in. He didn't, instead he pulled her out of the floor by her hair and sat her back down (fully out) and began to scold her. He didn't waste as much time as Ciel, however he actually did manage to make her feel bad. By the end, Sebastian had picked up all the crates (which she learned had been carrying very expensive and new china) and she was almost in tears because of how guilty she felt. Looks like this plan backfired. As Sebastian began to walk away, she quickly jumped to her feet and chased after him; apologizing as many times as it would take ( she was prepared to go on forever, I mean, she honestly had 'all the time in the world' ). Lucky for her, it didn't take forever. By her two-hundred and fiftieth 'I'm sorry Sebas-chan!' ( a nickname she had made in hopes it would make him feel less angry towards her ) he had already broken and accepted her apology. She thought she was finally in the clear, and was able to openly talk to him and hang out. Apparently that was not the case; not only was he not wanting to talk, it turns out he was actually rather busy.
She had asked him what he was doing, and he responded with a seemingly endless list of chores he had yet to complete.
"..Maybe I could help you!" she said eventually. She wasn't really wanting to do all that work, but the lack of options she had was really getting to her, and she kind of still felt guilty for breaking that china. Sebastian let out a huff, but none the less gave her three things to do ( he told her if she could complete them without screwing up, and still wished to help, then she could do more and hang out with him at the same time.. Okay, maybe he didn't actually say they could hang out, he said "do the chores with me".. but same difference ). These things were, in order:
-Clean the windows outside ( since she could float, it would be easier for her)
-Take all of the sheets from all of the beds and then wash them and re-make the beds ( since she had seen the disaster that happened when Meyrin tried he thought she could do it correctly.. and according to Sebastian, who had seen her 'bed making' skills, they weren't too bad )
-Then remove all the books from Ciel's study and then rearrange them into alphabetical order ( this was most likely just to keep her occupied as long as possible )
"Aye, aye sir!" She shouted with a salute before taking off to gather the cleaning supplies she would need to clean the windows. She heard Sebastian let out another sigh, but none the less he shouted back a quick "Be careful!". She didn't know why he worried considering she was already dead, but she appreciated his concern anyway. Now, she wasn't quite sure where these cleaning supplies were, so she kind of just ran through every wall in front of her until she reached what looked like a closet full of supplies.. Perfect! Quickly grabbing all the supplies, she poked her head out and looked around. Coast clear, begin mission! Sebastian told her that she couldn't be seen.. or rather that the cleaning supplies couldn't be seen. He didn't want someone to freak out about 'the ghostly cleaning supplies'. She agreed; she didn't want Sebas-chan ( she decided she liked that name now ) or Ciel to be mad at her. Though the haunted supplies thing kind of got her thinking; she could probably scare Lizy out of the house..? All she would have to do was make sure Ciel wasn't around.. then nobody would know! Though this was turning into a rather devious plan, she figured that if Lizy thought the manor was haunted she'd force Ciel to move into her place. She could deal with Lizy spending a night or two, but not living with her.
Once she reached the front door (which she had to open because of the supplies) she checked the garden; no sign of Finny, no sign of anyone actually. She quickly did one of those fancy spy people rolls outside of the door, checking once more for signs of people, before scooping the supplies up, shutting the door and then flying ( more or less ) up to the roof. From there it was kind of easy to wash the windows, the only thing was that she had to check in the rooms the windows were for to see if anyone was there. 98% of the rooms were empty, the only time she saw people were when she cleaned the kitchen window and saw Sebas-chan ( who she waved ecstatically to, and held a brief conversation with.. mostly him telling her he missed a few spots ), and then the study where Ciel and Lizy were still playing chess. From the looks of it, Ciel was definitely frustrated with how long this game had been going on for, and she could see Lizy was almost in tears. Since Lizy was facing the window, she didn't dare clean them in case she looked up and saw a floating sponge; but she did sit on the sill and watch. Watched Lizy make a dumb move that would put her in mate for sure if Ciel just took her piece! She smiled to herself; but it quickly fell as she saw Ciel make an even dumber move. He just put himself into the same position Lizy was in; and he did it on purpose. Lizy saw the opportunity and took his piece. She jumped up happily and paraded around the room, like some sort of circus elephant. She was very happy she 'won'. Ciel then got up and congratulated her with a handshake, but Lizy was having nothing to do with that; she went for the hug. A hug; the nerve of some people!
Now thoroughly frustrated she floated away from that window and moved onto the rest. The fact that Ciel had purposely lost for someone (else) hurt her more than it probably should have. Why should she care? Just because Lizy was dumb and couldn't actually beat Ciel ( which (y/n) now was wondering if Ciel let her win their game ) didn't mean Ciel should let her. She tried to reason that maybe he just preferred to swallow his pride and let her win so he wouldn't have to face the alternative of her crying. She wanted to go with that, she really did. But she couldn't, clearly Ciel and Lizy ( no matter how annoying he said she was ) had a connection. She wasn't jealous though; far from it. I mean it's not like Lizy has hit him in the face before ( twice! ). It's not like Lizy took out an old man and suffered through over twenty minutes of Ciels lectures. It's not like Lizy got shown a private room with a wonderful design of red, white and gold! ( She was sure that, given her (Lizy's) reaction, that the room that looked identical to her ( (y/n)'s ) room, was most definitely the first ti- )
Oh hell no. She had moved on from the study to wash the window/ door of her room. Hers. Not Lizy's! So why was Lizy jumping on her bed, and gazing in her mirror, and throwing the door/window open so fast it was hitting her in the face?! ( That hurt by the way, thanks for asking.. ) She didn't see how that was fair.. Lizy was temporary wasn't she? But (y/n) was permanent, right? So why was she so hurt, ignored and feeling really out of place ( this time not because she's dead ). Well, she wasn't jealous. Nope, not her. After tomorrow Lizy'll be gone, and (y/n) will still be here! No big deal, have today Lizy, (y/n) can wait. With that being her end resolve, she quickly finished cleaning all the windows ( including the study ) and returned the supplies back to the little closet. Then took out some detergent and placed it in the laundry room, before walking up the stairs and into all the bedrooms. Managing to be stealthy and sneak by Lizy and Ciel every time ( it really wasn't hard, Lizy made herself known ages before she actually appeared ), she successfully got all the sheets into the machine before turning it to 'gentle' and deciding to find Sebas-chan and chill for a bit while the sheets washed. Turns out he was still in the kitchen, and was too busy to play but was interested and proud to hear the windows were done ( and in only an hour! ) and that the sheets were a work in progress. Oh well, his loss! Since that had only taken about three of the twenty minutes needed for these sheets to wash, when she returned to the laundry room, (y/n) tried to entertain herself by thinking of fun things she could do with Ciel when Lizy was gone. Actually, funny enough, everything sounded like a great idea when ending with 'when Lizy is gone'. For example, how did this sound?
"Ciel! Let's build a big blanket fort, when Lizy is gone.. No, wait! Lets go into town and look at shops, when Lizy is gone! Or how about we jump of the roof of your house and float to the ground, when Lizy is gone!"
Alright maybe the last one wouldn't be the best for Ciel, but the first two? They were happening for sure.
By the end of those happy trains of thoughts the little buzzer thing had 'dinged' and (y/n) moved all the sheets outside (still being very careful about who saw.. ie. Nobody ) and hung them all out to dry on the clothes lines that were already set up ( Thanks Sebas-chan! ) and with that partially done ( she would have to come back in about another hour until they dried completely ) she decided to once again, check in with Sebas-chan. You would think it would be a good idea for her to start on the books, but Sebastian had said that everything would have to be in order as when she got around to working with the books Ciel ( and 'Lady Elizabeth' he said ) would be down and having dinner. She thought that was good timing on his part and agreed; to bad she did. He was still very busy with dinner preparations and didn't talk at all.. Though she was permitted to watch as long as she didn't touch anything, talk at all or be 'annoying' in any way, shape or form ( she replied to this with a half gasp of shock and a "Me? I'd never!" and received a smile and a small pat on the head for her efforts ).
Even though she had spent the better part of an hour just sitting and watching Sebas-chan cook, it really only felt like minutes. The way he moved so naturally, cutting anything and everything the exact same size and shape; he was beautiful! She wished she could cook like that! Unfortunately for her, considering she was dead, her cooking skills were a little out of practice.. as in, non-existent. Oh hey! That's a good idea; "Hey Ciel, why don't we cook together?". She didn't even need to add 'when Lizy is gone', that was such a great idea. So with Sebas-chans gentle suggestion that the sheets were probably dry now, she took to leaving and finishing that job up; very satisfied with her wonderful idea ( which would work way better than her earlier 'wonderful idea' which was to spook Sebas-chan ). She finished making the beds in no time flat ( technically twenty more minutes ) and then moved onto the study.
She walked in, still happy with how brilliant her mind was, and then walked straight back out. Lizy was in there, not Ciel.. just Lizy. Where was Ciel? If he wasn't there it would make it rather easy to kill- I mean, remove Lizy from the study so she could get to work.. but what if he walked in whilst she was trying to get her out? He'd probably be angry considering Lizy was sleeping right now ( the only quiet time he receives? the only boring time? she didn't know ), and her only alternative to killing her was to drag her outside and shut the door on her ( she already ruled out haunting her, remember? ). She'd probably freak when she awoke and Ciel would too. So she went over to Ciel's desk, trying ( and failing ) to not notice the fact that Lizy was asleep in Ciel's chair.. seriously?! Even she wasn't allowed in that chair. I mean, she still sat in it when everyone was sleeping, but here was Lizy doing it in broad daylight! The nerve of this person really knew no boundries. Then she just stared, stared at this dumb animal that was Elizabeth Midford ( she'd heard Sebas-chan greet her like that or something ).. Though, as much as she didn't want to admit; Lizy really wasn't an animal. She was actually quite pretty; though it really would have helped this stupid pang in her chest out if she were hideous. This of course was not jealousy, remember? (y/n) was definitely not jealous of Lizy. She kept telling herself this as she continued her inspection; just barely snapping out of her concentration when she heard the door knob rattle. Quickly sinking into the wall behind her ( up high so her head could be out without to much worry of being seen ) she watched as Ciel entered, walked over to Lizy and shook her awake.
"Lizy, Lizy.. wake up!" He snapped after getting frustrated at her lack of response. She looked up dazed.
"Oh..? Ciel!" she let out a sleepy smile. Well, if (y/n) noticed a clingy-ness that just wouldn't quit at the beginning; times that by ten, no eleven. Elizabeth Midford was eleven times more snuggly/cuddly/clingy/annoying when sleepy. She was pissing her off. Ciel was too actually; though obviously not happy and very uncomfortable, he did nothing to shake her off.. this unfortunately led to her accidentally making a disgusted grunt sound.. or something like that. Lizy, who could not hear her did nothing. Ciel, who could hear her looked up in surprise and a bit of embarrassment. He didn't see her per say, because she had moved her head back; but he definitely did hear her. And she could hear him, all of his curses and frustrated 'Lizy get off's'. She waited a bit, but the only thing she could tell was that Lizy was not getting off, and Ciel had not come after her to apologize.. wait, apologize? Why would he do that? He'd done nothing wrong; it was that stupid Lizy who- also did nothing wrong.. Hmm. Maybe she was a little jealous.
Hah, yeah right! She chuckled lightly at that thought; then pushed it away and began thinking of another plan. Since she had finished the windows a tad faster than Sebas-chan had anticipated she still had quite a while before dinner would remove Ciel and Lizy from the premise. That was when (y/n) decided she must take action! Her plan was as follows, get Lizy to come out from the room ( alone ), walk over to the stairs and then mysteriously 'trip' and fall down them.. No wait that wasn't it. Wrong thought, try this one:
Step 1: Create a distraction outside the hall ( in this case she would pretend to have hurt herself and scream out in pain ), this would do two of two things; One: Ciel would run out in worry and finally acknowledge her existence. Two: Lizy would follow. Then all (y/n) had to do was fly past them and shut the door, successfully locking it. It would be a little awkward for Ciel to explain, but she was sure Lizy would believe whatever he came up with! So, mission commence! She flew through the door, and there was Sebas-chan, offering 'before dinner' tea.. Abort mission! Repeat, abort mission! She jumped back through the door, where she tripped ( for real ) and hurt herself ( for real ) and continued to let out a scream ( a real one ). Now, she wasn't hurt bad, she was more surpirsed.. the scream was mostly for that reason. She quieted herself quickly and rubbed her head, listening for any sign of reactions from the next room. While nothing came from the room beside her, there most definitely was something going on in front of the door; three sets of footsteps were heard running at the door ( which was actually locked ). Whoever reached the door first reported what (y/n) had just noticed herself.
"It's locked!" A voice; Ciel's said. "Sebastian, break it down!" he barked the command. Knowing (y/n) would have exactly three seconds to get through the other wall before Sebastian argued and Ciel shut him down ( she had noticed that saying 'this is an order' helped Ciel's case, she wondered why ) she wasted no time in ignoring a confused Lizy's "whats wrong" and rolled on the floor and through to the study. She heard the door break and quickly, while the noise was still in full effect, shut the study door and locked it. Ciel wouldn't break the study door down, she knew because he said it was some expensive custom made thing ( again, more or less ). She heard muffled curses from Ciel, and could practically hear Sebas-chan's smile ( who most likely had seen through her not-so-on-purpose plan ) and more of Lizy's confused babble.
"I'm sure whatever has made the noise is fine. The dinner however, if left for much longer will not be.. Shall we go?" Damn, Sebas-chan had things under control. There was a reluctant response from Ciel, and an excited one from Lizy before they all walked past the closed study door.
"Hey, wasn't that open before?" asked Lizy.
"No, you're mistaken" was all Ciel said (..well not all he said, she swore she heard a quiet 'Dammit (y/n)!'.. Too bad, looked like Ciel was mad at her )
Sebas-chan said nothing. When the footsteps faded away (y/n) let out a sigh, turned to the shelves ( full of books! ) and started.. It was going to take a while and she wanted it done as soon as possible, preferably before Ciel and Lizy came back from dinner. She quickly unlocked the door ( in case anyone needed to get in later ) and then walked towards the shelf.
About an hour had past and she was actually quite far along with the 'alphabetical order book mission'. She had already reached the V's! Not too bad, not too bad! She was actually really proud, she had looked through all the books and double checked to make sure that they were going into the right place; there was not a single book that was not where it should be! She picked up the next book, it read "Curses and Charms of the Old, to Haunt the New."
..
..
She let out an annoyed growl. A 'C' book?! She had been that off?! You know, it kind of made her curious as to what else she'd screwed up.. hopefully not too much? Lucky for her, this book actually sounded interesting.. Deciding she would set it aside and read it later, she placed it on Ciel's desk and continued to shelve the books. About just under a half hour and she was done; she took a step back to look at the shelf and all of it's now alphabetized glory. Just one step back, right into another person. She let out a quick 'oh my Jesus!' before a hand clamped over her mouth.
"Shh!" Ciel, the mystery person, hushed her. "Do you want to alert Lizy that I am not going to the washroom, but am in fact visiting a ghost?!" (y/n) kind of had to admit, she did.. but she couldn't with this annoying hand covering her mouth, also the fact that she was invisible played a rather large role.. Writing his forgetfulness off as 'Ciel being exhausted' (which he totally was ) , she did what everyone ( she was almost sure this was the norm ) did to get someone to remove their hands; she licked it. Ciel quickly jerked back and then wasted no time lunging forward and rubbing her spit back onto her clothes.
"Real mature, pal" she said. 'Pal', it wasn't really something she wanted to call Ciel.. She now had 'Sebas-chan' for Sebastian, but nothing for Ciel yet.. hmm, she'd be sure to experiment more for nick names in the future.
"Says the one who licked my hand!" He responded in that whisper yell.. you know the one where you can tell they want to yell but they have to whisper? That one was always so funny to listen too.
"Yes, I do say"
".."
"So, what's the word, humming bird?" Hmm, she wasn't a big fan of that..
".."
"That didn't work for you either..hmm how about 'what's up, buttercup'? That ones a classic" She liked that one a little more, but Ciel clearly didn't.
"..okay.. making me think here.. oh! What's the deal, banana peel? Haha, that ones funny." She was getting closer, or at least she thought she was. Ciel did not.
"What's shakin' bacon?" ..Not that one either..
"What's the story, morning glory?" Nope. Try again.
Finally she smiled a little; this next one had to be it honestly! She tried everything with this guy and he was really not making it any easier; he was like a statue, only he was breathing ( the more of these cheesy lines she said, the harder he did though )
"What's cooking, good looking?" Que flustered Ciel, and shit eating grin (y/n).
He spluttered out some incomprehensible excuse for words then simply mumbled that he 'had come to see if she was okay'.
"I'm afraid I'm dead. Other than that though, i'm positively dandy!"
He sent her a small, half hearted glare. She only laughed.. She had to admit, she had been talking to Ciel for maybe five minutes and it was easily the best part of today. Alright, maybe she had been a little jealous. But the fact was that Ciel was here now, not with Lizy.. that he had been mildly worried about her and that he was clearly a lot more comfortable around her than any of the times she had seen him with Ms. Midford. There really was no need to be jealous, or angry or.. no wait a moment; there most definitely was a reason to be angry, Ciel had given away her room! Who the hell did he think he was!?
"Oi! *Short stack ( she decided that for when she was angry, this was a great term to use ), I just remembered.. you gave away my room! The hell?!" She fixed Ciel with a very furious glare.
"Oh, I um.. If I don't head back right now people will begin to wonder what i'm actually doing; I was excused under the pretense that I am using the bathroom.. I have to go!" after saying that he had to 'mental face palm himself'; what a dumb pun. Never the less he sprinted out, faster than (y/n) had ever seen anyone run before. Hnn, what a dick! Deciding that it would be best for her to not follow and wait until Ciel came back himself, she took the book she had left out.. sat down in Ciel's chair, put her feet up on his desk and began to read.
***
This little book was actually jam packed with cool stuff. (y/n) wasn't going to lie here; it was very interesting! Turns out that these 'curses' and 'charms' could come in the form of spells, monsters, necklaces, bracelets, haunted dolls.. etc. and even special people called 'sinners'. She actually folded over the corners of a few pages to come back and read later ( the titles where: The Imperials, which apparently had something to do with the 'seven' sins (strongest of these 'sinners') and then this necklace that apparently could revive the dead ) .Now she didn't know if any of this stuff was actually real; but she was really hoping it was! I mean, a necklace that can revive the dead? Sign her up for that one, thank you very much!
With her great enthusiasm she ended up finishing the book in just over three hours (excluding the marked chapters) and was super excited by it; can you imagine if this stuff was real?! It was all just too cool.. And now, since it had gotten rather late she had one of two options at this point. The first being to put the book down now and go talk to Ciel about this stupid room switch and figure out where she was going to 'sleep', the other was to finish the book and check out the chapters she had been truly excited to read. It was really a no brainer; she continued the book, regardless of the fact she had no room. She opened to the first bookmark, which was about 'The Imperials'.
Basically what The Imperials were, was some form of an organization that consisted of the 'Seven Deadly Sins' and all the other sinners. The SDS (seven deadly sins) were a collection of seven of the strongest 'sinners'. The book also mentioned what 'sinners' actually were.. Turns out they were low life 'spirits' more or less which used to have their own demonic bodies that were destroyed long ago when their leader was defeated. They now possess human bodies instead, which would rot at one point and they would be forced to find new ones. Apparently this was a big problem as not only was leaving a human body painful, but finding a new one was difficult; only certain bodies could hold a sinner's energy. If the body chosen couldn't contain the energy, the body would burst into flames and kill the human as well as it's new demon counterpart. Going into more detail about the actual SDS it turns out that they were pretty much the 'top dogs' of all the sinner's, and that the entire purpose of their organization is to obtain this necklace that revives the dead and then reincarnate their original leader; The Imperial. This 'Imperial's' revival would mean the end of the world as the humans knew it. These sinner's prey on humans to survive , so having their real bodies returned ( the bodies kind of live and die with this Imperial guy )would mean the human population would pretty much be hunted to extinction. That didn't sound too pleasant! Lucky for the humans, the only way that this Imperial was able to be revived was with the earlier mentioned necklace. Intrigued, she flipped to the 'necklace' page.
Now here was a kicker! The only way this necklace could be obtained was if someone with the bloodline of those who had created it (the necklace) pieced it together themselves. She read the last line over again, it still said 'pieced it together' ; it appeared that after the Imperial had been defeated, this necklace had been split into seven pieces and spread throughout the world so that nobody would ever be able to revive him. It was also said that its creator was then killed so the bloodline could never be created.. a little bit of an odd story, but whatever; it was still cool. Just before she was about to close the book ( having finished it ) she noticed a small line that she could see through the page.. confused, she turned to the next page, which was blank. But there were lines there, she could see them! No, they weren't lines; they were faded letters. Looking at these letters, none of the words made any sense; they were all odd symbols and such things she didn't understand..
"So to sum it all up, we have some crazy, demonic organization who wishes to end the human race by reviving their leader; the Imperial. Then we have the item that can make such a thing possible, this necklace. Which has been split into seven segments and spread throughout the world so nobody can bring back said Imperial; also if you even manage to find a segment, you can't do anything with it unless you have the blood of it's original creator in you.. The creator who was killed thousands of years ago..? Plus we have these odd symbols on a blank paper that seem to be a part of some forgotten language or something.. all in all, a little strange, yes?" she said aloud to herself. Deciding that that was enough reading for now, and it was late enough to rest ( it was 11:43 ) she put the book down and shut her eyes.
"Huh, Ciel's chair is comfy.. no wonder Lizy fell asleep".
***
"Do you accept this? In exchange for your surrender of the 'joining segment', we will grant you everything you have ever dreamed of.. This is our deal, yes?" A deep voice spoke slowly, echoing around the walls.. Wherever she was, it was dark and quite a big space; she was having a very difficult time seeing anything.
"This is our deal.. There will be no betrayal or take backs from me, can I say the same about you though?" Huh, that voice sounded oddly familiar, like she had heard it before.. actually, now that she was thinking about it.. so did the other one.
"Naturally." A new voice had spoken up.. strange, she recognized that one too.
"We all swear by it.. cross our hearts and hope to DIE!" a loud, crazy voice shouted out. Still familiar though.. did she know these people? Where from? Who were they.. Her thoughts were cut off by a deep chuckle; a sound which sent the hairs along her arm and neck to stand up. That chuckle was most definitely familiar, she didn't know why, but she knew it wasn't from a pleasant experience; meeting the owner of that voice she meant.
"Quiet down.. we have all sworn by it.. do you accept it? Or are you wasting our time.." the voice said very slowly.
"I accept" She didn't know what this was about, but she got a bad feeling in her gut that accepting these mystery people's offer was a bad idea.. This feeling may have also been because when those two words were spoken, laughing from all around the room began to start.. but, lets go with intuition.
"Excellent" a smooth, definitely feminine, voice spoke up.
"Yes! VERY!" the loud one spoke again.
While everyone seemed to be getting along just fine; (y/n) was having a very hard time keeping track of everything. It was clear that she 'knew' these people, but she couldn't figure out for the life of her who they were and where they were from. The only thing she knew for certain at that point was that a deal had been established and the party containing more people seemed to be after a segment.. Wait, a segment?! She knew of a segment! Could these strange people be 'The Imperials'? But what did that even mean..? The book said that the creator had been killed before their bloodline was even started.. Could he have had a secret relationship with someone? Could he have had a child that nobody had known about?! The thought was terrifying.
Just as she was about to offer some input about the situation; being that she thought it was a very bad idea that this strange man hand over said 'joining segment' ( which technically she had no knowledge about ) to these presumed 'Imperials' , the floor had begun to spin and she had become very dizzy. She shut her eyes and collapsed onto the ground, waiting for the room to stop moving. When it did she once again opened her eyes and was surprised to see that she was no longer in a dark room, but outside and seeming to be watching a woman who was just walking down the street.. She was very confused.
There was an uncanny resemblance, (y/n) realized, between this woman and herself. They both had (e/c) eyes, (h/c) hair and (s/c) skin.. they even had the same facial bone structure and pretty much the same build. That was an odd experience, seeing almost an exact copy of yourself walking around town, she had to admit.. but she continued to watch her walking in the streets anyway. She was alone, and it was rather dark out; nobody else was seen on the streets. For minutes, it was just her copy walking; then this thing appeared.
The thing was definitely not human; she could tell. It was very tall ( about 7ft ) and was sporting horns as well as a tail. It was completely naked and had spikes protruding from different parts of it's body; leaving trails of deep, almost black coloured blood on it's sickly grey toned skin. It's jaws were completely open and (y/n) could see the huge teeth inside. Very concerned for this woman she attempted to shout out a warning, as it seems as though she couldn't see the beast which was right in front of her ( maybe this was a 'sinner'! ) :
"Stop! Run away, watch out!" She called out. When that didn't work, she ran right in front of her and attempted to stop her that way; but this woman couldn't see her either. She stared, numb as she walked right through her and straight into the jaws of the hungry sinner ( let's assume that is what that was ). She was horrified to see that thing devour her whole and then morph into some sick and twisted copy of the woman that once was; so that was how a sinner obtained a new body.. She could have gone on without seeing that. She felt tears fall from her eyes, as she closed them in an attempt to make them stop she felt the ground spin once more and she collapsed into a sobbing mess as she waited for everything to settle. When everything stilled (y/n) was having a very hard time contemplating whether or not she wanted to see this next scene; she wasn't having very good luck so far, why would that change?
She would have kept laying there if it weren't for the fact that she could hear a piano play; it was playing a familiar tune that she often heard when people where getting married.. She looked up. There was that mystery woman walking down the aisle, smiling bright and looking as if she was about to cry. She was okay! And she was getting marri- no. This wasn't the woman, this was the sinner.. remember?! Breaking out of the happy train of thought, she looked to see who was getting married to this demon.
The man standing at the aisle was smiling bright, and seemed to be rather rich. She could assume this from what he was wearing along with how this whole wedding venue was set up. It was in a very large garden, which was the perfect setting for what appeared to be a very large manor. She almost thought it might be bigger than Ciel's! She had, for the moment, completely forgot that this poor, rich* man was getting married to a demon as she had been too busy looking around in awe at the sheer beauty of his place. What actually got her attention was when the man began to say his vows.. she knew that voice! She swore that it was the very same one who had agreed to help 'The Imperials' by giving them a 'joining segment'.. The hell? What did this mean? She tried to remember the conversation they had.. "We will grant you everything you have dreamed for".. wasn't there something like that occurring in the conversation.. was this apart of that? Just as she thought she was beginning to piece some things together; the world around her started spinning.. again.
This time she didn't fall, only closed her eyes; when she opened them.. she appeared to be in a hospital watching the demon woman give birth.. a little freaked out by this, but determined to watch it ( she needed clues to help her finish this whacked up puzzle forming in her head ) none the less, she stood and continued to observe. The woman, who according to the clock had been in labour for around four hours, looked to be in an immense amount of pain to the point where (y/n) was actually worried she might explode. Remembering that this woman was actually possessed by a sinner, she was twice as concerned about what the end result of said sinner giving birth would be..
"Don't worry, you're doing great! Pretty soon we'll have our beautiful baby daughter, we can name her (y/n) just like you wanted!"
Oh. Looks like it was her.
Now thoroughly creeped out that she was named by a sinner, she could only stand there as she saw the demon woman give one last push before a crying filled the room. The effects of this newborn child finally being born were immediate. The father was crying and holding the baby ( technically her.. ) and saying over and over how happy he was, and how beautiful their new daughter (y/n) was and how scared he was all of a sudden as he saw his wife close her eyes and stop breathing.
"What are you doing?! Save her, please!" They ushered him and his child out while they attempted to save that demon woman; but to no avail.. she was gone. Everything began to move again, this time though (y/n) kept her eyes open. She was still in shock; first she had heard the mystery man ( her father ) make a deal with 'The Imperials', then she saw a mystery woman who looked just like her (now known as her mother ) become possessed by a sinner, then she witnessed her own birth in which her mother had died.. She was part 'sinner'.
She was freaking out bad, and would have gone full tantrum mode if it weren't for the scene she was taken to next.
"This is your punishment, (l/n). We gave you what you wanted.. And you've failed to return what is rightfully ours! This was our deal." A smooth, dangerous voice called out.
She awoke with tears in her eyes; tears that would not stop falling. Everything had come back to her; she remembered everything.

*I don't know if this means anything, anywhere else.. but where I'm from 'short stack' usually refers to pancakes.. like a (short) stack of them..?*
*poor, rich man.. do you guys see what i did there?
A note I would like to make now: Since Ciel has visited reader for 3 weeks in the cemetery, plus the additional ten or so days he was gone added with the two days she has been at his manor for, the time of this story is somewhere into December now.. lets say it's the 12th so next chapter will have a bit of a celebration for Ciel! ( that's also kind of why Lizy was here, so she could throw a party )
Also thank you very much to for the suggestion that reader should scare Sebastian! It was fun to write in c:
For updates I am going fishing soon and will be out of internet connection ( as far as i know ) for somewhere around ten ish days maybe? I'll write chapters on my phone while I'm gone but I won't be able to update.
Last note, the plot has begun, and things will most definitely pick up in the next chapter ( which you won't get for a while, oops! ), so look forward to that eventually!
